I've recently been asked by several people if I still blogged. I think I only penned about four things total, but that was all it took. Here's the thing. Between Facebook and trying to talk a little more about our life here, I got tired. Really tired of talking about me. That and I don't finish what I start. The fact that I actually made it through college with a degree and not married was h-u-g-e. (I finished what I started, even though that's not what I started to finish. Get it?) Anyway...back to talking about me...
So we came to Hawaii about 18 months ago with all these romantic ideals in our minds about what we could do here to "further God's Kingdom," or something missionary-sounding like that. When we weren't saving souls, we could gaze at the ocean everyday, swim with Sea Turtles and make fruity drinks from our own Organic Garden. OK see, that's what I think it means to make your own plans, which btw, should NEVER be made while sitting on Ala Moana Beach sans kids in the middle of January. You should ALWAYS stay in whatever house next to the church building with people who call-out your precher-husband during his lesson to tell him he should be fired, situated in the ghettoish neighborhood you're actually going to be living in with when making such life altering choices. Now that I've got that out of the way...
I don't know if it was part of God's "plan" for us to be here, or if we decided that for ourselves. I don't know if God brought us to Hawaii to save other people or save this church. What I do know is that He brought us to Hawaii to save me. From my pride. From my arrogance. From my self-centerdness. From my independence. From my bitterness. From my ugliness. From my envy. From my idols. From my treasures. From my past. From my future. From my plans. From myself...and to Him.
SO SATAN...bring on the public bus-line that's been detoured past our Kitchen Window "until further notice." Crow all you want you ridiculous rooster that was obviously somebody's Christmas Present! Hey there church member talking to me through the window while I'm in the shower! I'll still love you, hurting person hiding behing the bible from your spot on the pew! The Lord of Heaven chased me down! I've been caught, and I never wanna be thrown back in! I'm following God's plan for my life (even if it's here...) from now on with full confidence because I KNOW the Lord will save me. But even if He doesn't, I will still. Praise. The Lord.
Pow. 'Nuff bout me. ;)
